Extension of JSS
The Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat announced in his Budget 2021 statement on 16 February 2021 that the Government will extend the Job Support Scheme (“JSS”) by up to six months – from April to September 2021 for Tier 1 Sectors, and from April to June 2021 for Tier 2 Sectors.
These extensions will alleviate financial stress from companies in these two tiers and help them remain sustainable.
The aviation, aerospace, and tourism sectors will receive 30 per cent JSS support for wages paid from April to June 2021; and 10 per cent JSS support for wages paid from July to September 2021.
Included sectors are food services, qualified retail outlets, marine and offshore companies, and arts and entertainment bodies. They will receive 10 per cent JSS support for wages paid from April to June 2021.
