The Government has announced that over $900 million will be disbursed from 30 September 2021 under the Job Support Scheme (JSS).
More than $27.6 billion has been disbursed through this scheme, which was first introduced at the Unity Budget in February 2020. This time round, inclusive of the enhanced JSS payout during phases 2 and 3, it sets to offset wages paid from April 2021 to July 2021.
Employers can look forward to receive their JSS payouts from 30 September 2021, should they have registered for PayNow Corporate on 24 September 2021 or if they have an existing GIRO arrangement with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). Otherwise, employers will receive their JSS payouts by cheque from 15 October 2021 onward.
The Government will provide enhanced JSS support for the following sectors from 27 Sep to 24 Oct 2021:

- The tourism sector received Tier 1 JSS support at 30% from 1 Apr- 30 Jun 2021, and 10% from 1-21 Jul 2021 tourism
- If no further changes are made, the JSS support levels will revert to the original schedule from 25 Oct onwards
With the enhanced JSS, sectors such as F&B, retail, and tourism will receive JSS’s support at 25 per cent. The enhanced payout will be disbursed in December 2021 for corresponding wages paid from August to October this year.
