The Challenge

A regional food and beverage operator expanding into the Hong Kong market required strong financial oversight but lacked in-house CFO capabilities to support the transition. Establishing operations in Hong Kong involved navigating local regulatory compliance requirements, implementing compliant financial structures and ensuring alignment with Hong Kong accounting and reporting standards.

Key challenges included limited visibility into financial performance during the pre-opening phase, the need for structured budgeting and cash flow forecasting and the absence of a centralised financial reporting framework. Without robust financial oversight, there was a risk of compliance gaps, inefficient cost management and delays in operational decision-making.

 

The Solution

Our team provided end-to-end CFO Support Services, supporting the client from market entry through to ongoing financial management. The engagement was delivered in three structured stages:

Stage 1: Financial Setup and Planning

  • Advising on cost structures, pricing strategies and cash flow management
  • Supporting licensing and setup decisions to ensure compliance with Hong Kong regulatory requirements

  • Performed budget vs actual analysis and financial performance reviews
  • Prepared rolling cash flow forecasts to optimise liquidity management
