Holders of an LTVP (Long-Term Visit Pass) or LTVP+*, issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), are eligible to work in Singapore with an approved Letter of Consent (LOC) from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Applications are open to individuals who meet the following criteria:
The LOC can be renewed and allows employers to hire LTVP/LTVP+ holders without being subject to the foreign worker levy or foreign employee quota restrictions.
For a valid application, the LTVP/LTVP+ must be valid for at least three months, and the applicant must have a formal job offer from a Singapore employer. The processing time is typically one week, and employment can only commence once the employer receives the approved LOC.
The LOC's validity will be determined by the employer's indication during the application or until the expiry date of the LTVP/LTVP+, whichever comes first. The LOC becomes invalid if the LTVP/LTVP+ is cancelled, expires, or if the holder is no longer employed by the company. The employer is responsible for cancelling the LOC when necessary.
Additional documents are required to apply for the following professions:
About the LTVP+
The LTVP+ is applicable to foreign spouses of Singapore citizens who have at least one Singaporean child from their marriage. For those without a Singapore Citizen child, ICA will consider other factors, such as the duration of the marriage, and will generally look more favourably upon those who have been married for at least three years. LTVP+ holders enjoy a longer period of residency in Singapore and healthcare subsidies. The LTVP+ initially grants a duration of three years and can be renewed for up to five years with each subsequent renewal.
